CQI IRCA 18014 PT218: EMS ISO 14001:2015 Internal Auditor

The law, environmental regulators, your customers and shareholders expect the highest standards of environmental protection.  ISO 14001:2015 is the International Standard for environmental management systems.  ISO 19011 sets out the requirements for auditing environmental management systems based on ISO 14001.  These practical courses give you all you need to know about using ISO 14001 and internal environmental auditing to manage and enhance your impact on the environment.

Objectives: This 2 day course will enable you to conduct environmental management system audits within your organisation.  You will learn about the structure of ISO 14001:2015 and how to structure, execute and report an audit effectively.  On successful completion of the course you will be awarded an CQI IRCA approved certificate.
Contents:
At the end of the course, a participant will know;

  • How to plan, conduct, report and follow-up on an environmental audit
  • How to use ISO 14001:2015 to Audit an Environmental Management System (EMS) which has the flexibility to accommodate all aspects of an Integrated Management System (IMS)
  • How to conduct, report and audit using process auditing techniques
  • How to use the techniques of effective auditing and the structure of ISO 14001:2015 to protect and enhance your organisation through effective environmental management
  • How to incorporate into your audit an evaluation of performance trends associated with key business success measures.

Prerequisites;
Delegates are expected to have knowledge of;
  • Management Systems
    • The Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle.
    • The core elements of a management system and the interrelationship between top management responsibility, policy, objectives, planning, implementation, measurement, review and continual improvement.
  • Environmental Management
    • The intended outcomes of an environmental management system.
  • ISO 14001
    • An understanding of the requirements of ISO 14001 and the commonly used environmental management terms and definitions


ISO 14001:2015 EMS Auditor Transition : 2 DAYS

A 2 day course for existing Auditors / Lead Auditors.

Objectives: The course is designed to enable experienced auditors to transition from ISO 14001:2004 to ISO 14001:2015.  The course will provide an overview of the key changes to ISO 14001:2015

this will be supported by applying the new requirements to work related scenarios and allowing auditors to practice their skills.

Contents:
The course will help you to;

  • Understand the structure of ISO 14001:2015
  • Identify the main differences between the requirements of ISO 14001:2004 and ISO 14001:2015
  • Prepare, conduct and develop the required skills for an ISO 14001:2015 audit
  • Describe the new requirements in Annex SL relating to organisational context, leadership, planning and support.

  • To appreciate the new structure of the clauses.

  • Interpret new and revised terms and definitions.
